Teleflex Medical Force Fiber® is a nonabsorbable surgical suture composed of a unique, ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene fiber. It offers a greater tensile strength than polyester and polyblend sutures, as well as, increased lubricity and superior knot break strength.

Our Force Fiber® polyethylene surgical suture contains Dyneema Purity, the ultimate raw material fiber for high-performance applications.* Produced by DSM Dyneema in the Netherlands, Dyneema Purity is pound-for-pound 15 times stronger than steel. It is ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene-based and highly crystalline. As such, it offers durability and long lasting wear and fatigue resistance. All with outstanding flexibility and pliability, and a non-abrasive, silk-like touch.

In-house Testing Performance Data

Force Fiber® showed excellent patient side knot security in a number of knot types. In addition, when compared to its nearest competitor, Force Fiber® achieved the same knot security with one less throw, using the accepted knotting technique of flat square ties. The graph below, right, demonstrates the superior consistency of the Force Fiber® braid construction.
